Overview
The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is the largest public university in the field of economics and business in the Czech Republic with over 13 000 students. The University, founded in 1953, has six faculties.
Among the University’s long-term strategic priorities and among its biggest strengths is the development of international cooperation. VŠE is a member of notable international organizations and networks of universities, such as the international strategic alliance CEMS (Global Alliance in Management Education) and PIM (Partnership in International Management), and cooperates with more than 250 universities worldwide. VŠE has been awarded several prestigious international accreditations, including EQUIS and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
Hotel and Travel
Prague is very well-connected and can be easily reached by plane to Václav Havel Airport and by train to Praha Main Train Station. There are direct flights available to European cities as well as overseas (e.g., New York, Soul, Dubai). The Czech Republic is a member of the EU and a part of the Schengen area. We do not recommend driving as the traffic in Prague is rather dense.
The connection between Václav Havel Airport Prague and Prague city center takes about 25 minutes by taxi/Uber/Lyft (approx. 20 USD/20 EUR) and about 45 minutes by public transport bus lines connecting to subway (“metro”) lines, operating at regular short intervals. There is also a direct Airport Express line operating between Václav Havel Airport and the Main Train Station. Bus stops are located directly in front of terminals. The Main Train Station is about 10-minute walk from Prague downtown (Wenceslas square), and about 5-minute walk from the University of Economics and Business Prague (VŠE).
Note that Uber is the official taxi service of the Prague Airport and that the Prague public transportation has been steadily ranked as one of the best in the world. You can buy a public transport ticket using the yellow machines at each metro stop and at selected tram/bus stops (card payment possible), or you can download the easy-to-use app for Android or iOS. The pricing is detailed here.
Prague offers many options for accommodation and you can find them via the usual channels (with Booking.com and Airbnb.com being the most common way of booking accommodation in Prague).

Currency
In Czechia we use Czech Crowns (CZK, Česká koruna in Czech). The exchange rate is around 25 CZK per 1 EUR/USD. You are not likely to have to use cash, as the vast majority of businesses accept card payments. If you do need to exchange cash, be careful, Prague is famous for scams by cash exchange offices. One good exchange office close to the conference venue is this one.
